About the Tournament
DACC to Host National Tournament for 17th Year
Danville
Area Community College and the city of Danville will again host the National
Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men’s National
Basketball Tournament at the DACC campus
March 16-20, 2010.
This year the tournament has been expanded by one day to include 4
additional teams for a total of 16 teams participating.
Tournament pairings will not be available
until later in March. The top 8 teams will be seeded by the Division II Men’s
Basketball Committee via teleconference once all district champions are
determined. The remaining 8 teams will be placed on the bracket by blind draw.Each
college will play a minimum of two games in the tournament.
Teams playing more than two games will
determine first through eighth place.
2010 marks the 17th year that Danville has hosted the
tournament and the 25th
year of the tournament.
The Jaguar
Booster Club will hold a 50/50 Raffle in conjunction with the tournament.
Tickets cost $1 each. The winning ticket will be drawn Saturday, March 21,
during the championship game.
Raffle
participants need not be present to win. All proceeds from the raffle will
support DACC athletic programs.
Game times are:
Tuesday: 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. morning session; 1:00 & 3:00 p.m. afternoon
session and 6:30 & 8:30 p.m. evening session.
Wednesday: 11:00 a.m., 1:00 &
3:00 p.m. afternoon session and 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. for evening session.
Thursday: 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. morning session; 1:00 p.m. & 3:00
p.m. for the afternoon session and 6:30 & 8:30 p.m. for the evening session.
Friday: 11:00 a.m., 1:00 & 3:00 p.m. afternoon session and
6:00 & 8:00 p.m. for evening session. Saturday: Noon &
2:00 p.m. afternoon session and 5:30 & 7:30 p.m. for evening session.
Tickets are available at the DACC Cashiers Office or at the
game. A tournament pass, which is
good for all games, is available for $30.00.
Tickets are $6.00 each session/morning, afternoon or evening.
Tickets for DACC students and senior citizens are $2.00 and children 6
and under are free for all games.
